Mis à l’arrêt à cause de la montée des cas liés au COVID, le championnat national n’est toujours pas repris deux mois après.
À cause de la montée inquiétante des cas liés au Coronavirus en fin du mois de Mai dernier à travers le pays, le championnat national haïtien – toutes les divisons et catégories incluses – a été interrompu temporairement par le Comité d’Organisation du Championnat National de Football Professionnel (COCHAFOP) suite à une note sortie par le Ministère de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de l’Action Civique (MJSAC). Il était question d’arrêter jusqu’à nouvel ordre tout rassemblement important pour quelque événement sportif soit-il à travers tout le pays, ce qui était aussi valable pour le championnat haïtien de football professionnel. Néanmoins, plus deux mois après, aucune note n’est apparue dans la presse pour évoquer une quelconque reprise alors que plusieurs villes du pays organisent leur propre championnat d’été.
La raison de cet arrêt brusque du championnat n’est même plus valide considérant le nombre d’activités avec forte une présence d’individus qui ont lieu chaque jour en Haïti depuis cette annonce. Dans la foulée, la Fédération Haïtienne de Football (FHF) est toujours sans gouvernail depuis la démission du Président Jacques Létang à la tête du Comité de normalisation établi par la FIFA. Le mutisme de la COCHAFOP est pour le moins inquiétant selon les observateurs vu l’ensemble des interrogations qui planent sur la situation du football haïtien ces temps-ci.
Une série de clôture démarrée difficilement
Si la série d’ouverture a pu se terminer malgré les nombreuses situations difficiles qu’a connu le championnat national notamment le contexte d’insécurité, la série de clôture n’a pas tardé à en expérimenter elle aussi une pléiade de tourments. Programmée initialement initialement pour le week-end du 27 et 28 février 2021 après avoir vu le Violette AC l’emporter en finale contre les archelois pour clôturer la phase aller, la phase retour du champion national de D1 a été repoussée à maintes reprises : une première fois par les clubs qui se sont mis d’accord sur le fait qu’ils n’étaient pas encore prêts de regagner le terrain après la période inter-saison, une deuxième fois par la COCHAFOP elle-même et une troisième fois par le refus des arbitres d’officier les rencontres et qui réclamaient leurs dettes auprès de la COCHAFOP après plusieurs mois de travail sans rémunération. La preuve, la première journée de la série de clôture du championnat national de D1 n’a enregistré que trois rencontres disputés sur 9 programmés en l’occurrence Ouanaminthe FC vs AS Cavaly, Triomphe AC vs Racing des Gonaïves et FICA vs Tempête FC, tous terminés sur le score de parité, nul et vierge.
Moins de 10 journées ont été joués quand cette note du MJSAC décide de tout stopper : « La suspension de toute manifestation sportive maintenue jusqu’à nouvel ordre – Croix-des-Bouquets, dimanche 4 juillet 2021.- Le Ministère de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de l’Action Civique (MJSAC) rappelle au public, aux fédérations et associations sportives nationales en général ainsi qu’aux responsables de centres et de parcs sportifs sur tout le territoire national en particulier qu’il reste attaché aux mesures dictées par les autorités sanitaires pour réduire la propagation du coronavirus en Haïti. En conséquence, la décision prise par le MJSAC dans le communiqué du 3 juin 2021 de suspendre l’organisation de toute manifestation sportive sur toute l’étendue du territoire national est maintenue jusqu’à nouvel ordre.
Le coronavirus reste une menace pour la population et il est du devoir et de la responsabilité du ministère de veiller à l’application stricte des dispositions adoptées en vue d’arrêter la propagation de la pandémie.
Le MJSAC appelle tous les acteurs du secteur à contribuer aux efforts pour lutter contre le coronavirus », pouvait-on lire dans celle-ci.
Le mutisme inquiétant de la COCHAFOP conjugué au fonctionnement boiteux de la FHF
Depuis l’éviction du Dr Yves Jean-Bart à la tête de la FHF (Fédération Haïtienne de Football, ndlr), le football en Haïti est durement affecté, et ce par une mauvaise gestion en dépit de l’instauration du comité de normalisation par la FIFA qui, depuis son installation, se tient malheureusement sur le feu des projecteurs et sujet à de nombreuses critiques aux yeux de certains observateurs. Conséquence grave, un système sportif haïtien privé de stabilité à tous les niveaux. Quoique responsable de la bonne marche du Championnat National en collaboration avec la FHF, depuis la publication du communiqué de la MJSAC annonçant la mise en arrêt de toutes activités sportives à travers le pays, la COCHAFOP s’inscrit dans un silence complice et inquiétant : aucune reprise des compétitions nationales n’est à l’étude pour le moment. Par ailleurs, selon quelques folles rumeurs, le 18 Octobre serait la date retenue pour que les équipes reprennent leurs activités sportives. Rappelons toutefois qu’on n’est qu’au mois d’Août. Donc une reprise prévue dans deux mois pour un championnat qui a connu antérieurement deux mois d’arrêt. Le pire, ce n’est même pas officielle. « Je crains que le football tombe en disgrâce des amants du ballon rond à cause de l’insouciance de nos dirigeants profiteurs », a martelé un ancien joueur de l’AS Cavaly qui est loin d’être le seul à afficher son inquiétude quant à l’avenir du football haïtien. Les jours passent, les couacs se multiplient et pendant que le championnat professionnel du pays peine à fixer une date pour sa reprise, les championnats d’été continuent leur petit bonhomme de chemin dans presque toutes les communes du pays.
Quelle issue pour la saison 2020-2021 du championnat nationale de D1 ?
En décembre 2019, alors qu’on jouait la première partie de la saison 2019-2020, en raison de plusieurs semaines de Peyi Lòk (pays lock), la Commission d’Organisation du Championnat Haïtien de Football Professionnel (COCHAFOP, ndlr) avait déclaré la saison inachevée. En outre, aucune équipe n’a été reléguée ou promue lors de ladite saison. Selon toute vraisemblance, on se dirigerait tout droit vers un scénario similaire pour la saison 2020-2021. Si les équipes ont été touchées à deux reprises par une flambée de cas liés au COVID, elles doivent maintenant s’attendre à faire face à une nouvelle fin de saison prématurée.
Reprendre là où l’on s’était arrêté lors de la phase retour du championnat national de première division pour finalement désigner un champion, annuler la deuxième partie de la saison vu le peu de rencontres qui ont été jouées, trouver une issue favorable à cette situation ne sera pas une chose facile et il va donc falloir des compromis avec les équipes concernées afin que toutes les parties puissent se mettre d’accord. Entre-temps, la COCHAFOP et la FHF continuent de se mettre dans de sales draps.
