Ce week-end a marqué le retour de trois des cinq championnats majeurs européens : la Premier League, la Bundesliga et la Liga Santander. Si la France jouait déjà une deuxième journée, ces trois autres championnats voyaient leurs équipes refouler pour la première fois depuis le mois de Mai les pelouses avec la majorité des stades bondés de fans.

Si certains ténors à l’instar du Man United, du Liverpool FC ou encore du Real Madrid ont gardé leur statut de favoris pour l’emporter facilement aux dépends de leurs adversaires, d’autres comme Man City, tenant du titre en Angleterre, ou encore la formation lilloise – fraîchement championne de France – se sont fait malheureusement surprendre et inquiètent déjà quant à leur capacité de conserver le titre.

Man United, Paul Pogba et Bruno Fernandes se sont régalés contre Leeds, les Reds et les Blues ne paniquent pas.

C’était le match du week-end entre les hommes d’Olé et ceux de Bielsa. Alors que les premiers ont ouvert le score par l’intermédiaire de Bruno Fernandes, Patrick Bamford et consorts ont pensé faire le plus dur en égalisant mais c’était sans compter sur les 4 passes décisives de Paul Pogba qui devient le 7ème joueur à réussir cette performance en PL. Manchester United commence donc parfaitement sa saison grâce à cette belle victoire 5-1 contre Leeds United. Même son de cloche pour Liverpool qui a dominé 3-0 la formation de Norwich City qui revient à peine en BPL. Les récents champions de la C1 – Chelsea FC – ont facilement maîtrisé leur adversaire Crystal Palace sur le même score alors que les hommes de Pep Guardiola – dans la peau du champion en titre – ont chuté 0-1 contre le Tottenham Hotspurs grâce à un but de Heung Ming Son malgré l’absence de Harry Kane.

Carlo Ancelotti démarre par une victoire, le FC Barcelone convainc dans l’ère « après-Messi ».

The Mister a correctement lancé sa saison sur le banc merengue. Avec un onze de départ presque sans surprise contre le Deportivo Alaves où il a aligné le nouveau venu Davoid Alaba à gauche et le trio Hazard-Benzema-Bale devant, Ancelotti a pu se défaire de son adversaire en comptant sur un Benzema décisif (2 buts) et une très belle performance d’Eden Hazard ou encore de sa nouvelle recrue qui a été excellente dans tous les compartiments du terrain. 4-1, c’est donc le premier score en match officiel de Carlo Ancelotti sur le banc madrilène, lui qui a été limogé en 2015. De l’autre côté, c’était comme un événement au Camp Nou. En effet, le FC Barcelone jouait contre la Real Sociedad sans pouvoir compter sur Messi parti au PSG. Pour cette rencontre, Ronald Koeman alignait deux nouvelles recrues Éric Garcia et Memphis Depay respectivement en défense centrale et en attaque. Martin Braithwaite ou encore Serginio Dest ont été aussi de la partie. Emmené par le danois, auteur de deux buts et d’une passe décisive, et un virevoltant Depay, les catalans ont pu l’emporter 4-2 malgré deux buts encaissés lors des dix dernières minutes de la rencontre. Sans Messi, le club culé a affiché un bon visage qu’il devra garder tout le long de la saison pour espérer soulever le trophée après deux saisons de disette. Tenant du titre, l’Atletico de Madrid a battu le Celta Vigo 2-1.

En Allemagne, le Borussia Dortmund a étrillé l’Eintracht Frankfurt en se remettant au Cyborg norvégien. Erling Braut Haaland a en effet marqué deux buts et délivré trois passes décisives au cours de ce match. Impliqué sur tous les cinq buts de son équipe, quoi de mieux pour démarrer sa saison ? En France, Lille a mordu la poussière 0-4 contre les niçois entraînés par Christophe Galtier. En guise de rappel, c’est lui qui a remporté le championnat français avec les lillois l’an dernier.
