Dennis Schröder crée la sensation chez les Lakers et attend une nouvelle signature de contrat

Arrivé cette saison au sein de la franchise californienne après le départ de Rajon Rondo chez les Hawks, l’ancien joueur de l’Oklahoma City – Dennis Schröder – fait des débuts prometteurs sous les couleurs des récents champions de la NBA et gagne déjà la confiance des angelenos.

Après avoir aidé les Anges de la Cité carlifornienne à remporter leur 17ème titre en NBA, beaucoup de joueurs ont quitté le navire pour se diriger vers d’autres horizons comme a été le cas pour Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard et Danny Green entre autres. Toutefois, les dirigeants ont signé de très bons joueurs en guise de renforts pour améliorer l’effectif. Des noms comme Montrezl Harrell, Dennis Schröder, Wesley Matthews – en provenance des Bucks de Milwaukee et l’espagnol de 35 ans, Marc Gasol ont ainsi atterri cette saison.

En dépit des deux défaites en quatre matches cette saison dont une lors de la première journée contre les Clippers (116-109), les Lakers peuvent se réjouir des services du meneur allemand de 27 ans. Aux côtés de Lebron James et de Anthony Davis, bien hypé par son arrivée, Dennis Schröder s’installe désormais dans le cinq majeur de Frank Vogel. Depuis quelques jours, les rumeurs laissent croire que les dirigeants de Lakers lui ont déjà proposé une prolongation de contrat. Les Angelenos lui avaient même offert une extension de deux ans de 33,4 millions de dollars qui, selon les règlements de la NBA, est le maximum qu’un joueur puisse espérer avant le 16 février. En quête de gagner plus d’argents avec les Lakers, Schröder a déclaré qu’il aimerait prolonger à condition que ce soit juste pour les deux parties. Par ailleurs, l’allemand peut gagner jusqu’à quatre ans avec une prolongation de contrat de 83 millions. Par contre, si les Lakers ne parviennent pas à un accord avec Schröder avant l’intersaison, l’équipe n’aura qu’une exception de niveau intermédiaire de 9,5 millions de dollars disponibles pour une utilisation en free agent .

Rappelons que Schroder a été récupéré au cours de la période de l’intersaison dans le cadre d’un échange multi-franchise dans lequel Los Angeles Lakers a dû se séparer de Danny Green.
